# How to Make It:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line two 8-inch round pans with parchment; butter the sides and dust lightly with flour or use baking spray.
- Whisk the all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt together in a medium bowl until evenly distributed.
- In a large bowl using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until each is incorporated, then beat in the vanilla.
- Reduce mixer speed to low. Add the flour mixture and milk to the butter-egg mixture in three additions, beginning and ending with the flour and mixing just until combined after each addition. Gently fold in the sprinkles by hand to avoid color bleed.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops. Bake in the preheated oven for 28 to 32 minutes, rotating once if your oven runs hot, until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and beat until incorporated and silky. Add the vanilla and 2 tablespoons of milk; beat and add the remaining tablespoon only if needed to achieve a spreadable, pipeable consistency. Fold in the sprinkles gently.
- Place one cooled cake layer on a serving platter. Using an offset spatula, spread a thick, even layer of the funfetti dip over the surface. Top with the second cake layer and press gently to level.
- Frost the top and sides with the remaining funfetti dip, smoothing or creating texture as desired. Press extra sprinkles onto the sides and top and add edible spring candies if using. Refrigerate the assembled cake for at least 30 minutes to set before slicing.
- Slice with a sharp knife chilled between cuts for clean slices. Store any leftover cake covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
