Cold Brew Coffee Tonic (Print Version)

A refreshing mix of chilled cold brew, sparkling tonic and bright orange zest served over ice—vibrant and easy.

# What You'll Need:

→ Base

01 - 6.8 fl oz cold brew coffee, chilled (about 200 ml)
02 - 6.8 fl oz tonic water, chilled (about 200 ml)

→ Garnish

03 - Zest from 1 orange, finely grated (reserve a wedge if desired)
04 - Ice cubes, as needed

# How to Make It:

01 - Place two serving glasses on the work surface and fill each with ice cubes to chill.
02 - Measure and pour 3.4 fl oz (100 ml) cold brew coffee into each glass.
03 - Gently add 3.4 fl oz (100 ml) tonic water to each glass, pouring slowly to preserve carbonation.
04 - Use a spoon to stir each drink once or twice, blending the layers without losing effervescence.
05 - Express the orange zest over each drink to release oils, drop the zest into the glass and add the reserved orange wedge if using.
06 - Serve immediately while cold and sparkling.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • If you love coffee but crave something cool with a little sparkle, this is your summer secret weapon.
  • It’s a showstopper at brunches and sunny afternoons because everyone is convinced you’re a flavor genius.
02 -
  • Pour the tonic slowly—if you rush, it’ll fizz over and make a sticky mess (I’ve worn my fair share).
  • Fresh zest is non-negotiable; bottled or pre-zested lacks the punch and aroma that really make this sing.
03 -
  • Chilling both the coffee and tonic ahead of time is the secret to maximum refreshment—lukewarm never hits the same.
  • A light touch with the stir is crucial, so the tonic stays bubbly and the drink looks sparkling right up to the last sip.
